Dr. Wilson Kasolo

Dr, Wilsob worked with Uganda Government in various parts of Uganda as a Forestry Officer in charge of various forestry management and conservation activities in forest reserves and public lands,. He rose to the rank of a District Forest Officer responsible for planning and management of forestry activities and staff in a District, and was later appointed as the Regional Forest Officer responsible for planning and management of forest reserves, activities and staff in a number of districts in a region of Uganda.
He coordinated the processes that led to the formation of the National Forestry Policy and the National Forestry Authority for Uganda, as Head of the Forest Sector Coordination Secretariat which was responsible managing all the processes which also led to the formation of the National Forestry programme for Uganda, the Forest Sector Support Department.
Dr. Wilsom have been a Board member to the National Forestry Authority (NFA) for Uganda, and also a Board member to the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) for Uganda. He has broad knowledge and understanding of policy formulation, institutional development and cooperate governance issues.
Wilson his the Executive Secretary for the African Network for Agriculture, Agroforestry and Natural Resources Education (ANAFE), with a total membership of 146 colleges and Universities in 35 countries in Africa. The Network is based at ICRAF in Nairobi - Kenya, where he worked as the first Senior Education Fellow for two years, 1994 -1995. Activities promoted include curricula development and reviews, teaching materials/teaching aids development, information packaging and dissemination, fellowships for students research, internships and attachments, capacity development for lecturers, business incubation support for youths, and staff and students exchange (south – south, and north – south).
